Having spent the first 20 years of his life in the charming city of Bordentown, New Jersey, his fond memories of growing up on Prince Street will never be forgotten. As a child, he and his mother spent time appreciating the black-and-white film noir classics of the 1950s, including the thrillers of Alfred Hitchcock. Bryan has earned a Bachelor of Science in Photography from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, one of the top-five photography schools in the country in 2006. Bryan currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but is an avid traveler, visiting such places as Italy, Russia, Belarus, Canada, the Caribbean, New Orleans, and the Midwest. Bryan has a passion for documenting found objects and antiques, historical sites, and the Social Landscape of modern life. His inspiration comes from the photographs of Garry Winogrand, Lee Friedlander, Robert Frank, Aaron Siskind, Alfred Steiglitz, and Eugene Atget. Bryan looks forward to a happy future and the success of his company, Gritty Graphics.
Tools of the Trade:
Cameras of choice are the Mamiya 645 (film), Sinar 4X5 (film), and Nikon D70 (digital). All film negatives are scanned at high resolution, edited in Adobe Photoshop CS3, and meticulously printed using archival pigment-inks. The digital darkroom is comprised of top-of-the-line Macintosh and Epson hardware. The end result are beautiful black-and-white renditions of contextual subject matter, with a truly amazing tonal range and texture.
